How to use your SURFboard mAX router with your current modem


SURFboard mAX comes with 4x4 802.11ax (Wi-Fi6) on both 2.4Ghz and 5 GHz that deliver the fastest possible speed throughout your home and also has a third dedicate 4x4 802.11ax radio on 5Ghz band specifically to communicate between max units. it comes a satellite model that increases the reach and stability of your network, 400% longer range and faster speed than 802.11ac and about 1200 Mbps at 2.4 GHz, 4800 Mbps at 5 GHz low and 4800 Mbps at 5 GHz high. it's a nice choice for large houses with many rooms

You can also connect your current modem with SURFboard mAX router straight out of the box, here's the way's to connect your SURFboard mAX router with your current modem. (some modems and internet service providers may require special configurations contact  Arris router support number for special configuration.)

Combo Router/Modem 

Many Internet service providers provide a single device that works as a modem and router simultaneously known as a gateway. if you have one of those devices, follow the user guide's instructions to turn off Wi-Fi for those units and connect your SURFboard mAX as the main router to the Gateway.

AT&T's U-Verse
SURFboard mAX router works great with AT&T U-Verse service. to set up a SURFboard mAX router download SURFboard mAX Manager Application and the steps and instructions. Once your's network is set up, we highly recommend you to disable Wi-Fi from AT&T U-Verse router.

Verizon FiOS 
SURFboard mAX router also works great with Verizon FiOS internet (only service). There are some additional steps to control you FiOS from your SURFboard mAX network 

Step 1:-    Disconnect the existing Ethernet cable with internet connectivity and connect the ethernet cable to the ethernet port of ONT ( Be sure that your Verizon Turn the FiOS ONT Ethernet port on because the FiOS ONT Ethernet port is turned off by default.) and connect the other end of cable to yellow WAN port of your SURFboard mAX router. 

Step 2:-    Connect your max to power and wait till the LED turns amber, one the led starts flashing blue and white,  connect your smartphone to the max. To test internet open web browser and enter the ARRIS website in URL
